The IBM Center for The Business of Government is pleased to announce that Angela Evans will serve as a Visiting Fellow, working on developing content and academic partnerships around agile government.

We are honored to host Ms. Evans in the Center.  Ms. Evans will work with our Center and the National Academy of Public Administration in supporting the Agile Government Center, particularly in working with government and academic leaders and experts on initiatives to strengthen education, research, and practice that informs future directions for agile government.  Evans’ work as a Visiting Fellow will focus on research, collaboration, speaking, and writing on agile methodologies, best practices, and use cases.

Ms. Evans comes to the Center following a highly successful and prominent career, most recently as Dean of the Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) School of Public Affairs, University of Texas, from which she retired at the end of 2020.  Ms. Evans joined the faculty of the LBJ School in 2009 as a professor of practice, teaching graduate courses in policy development, public management, and ethics.  She has earned numerous teaching awards.

In January 2016 Ms. Evans became Dean of the school.  As Dean, Ms. Evans instituted core operational, management and curriculum reforms; reenergized the School’s profile for research, scholarship and visibility; and became a more vibrant and collaborative partner across the UT Austin campus.

As Dean, Ms. Evans also facilitated a nationwide discussion with other university deans on the future of public policy in higher education – a network that she will continue to collaborate with in her work with the IBM Center.

Professor Evans also is a fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration. She was elected the President of the Association of Schools of Public Policy and Administration and she served on the executive committee of National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Analysis.

Please join me in welcoming Angela Evans to the IBM Center.
